More About Your Profile RSS Feed

When you go to My Geek on the menu bar, it takes you to your profile page. There are a number of things you can do to personalize your profile. Adding information to your profile helps other users get to know you and aids in building community.

Next to the heading User profile for Username you will see a small yellow pencil icon. Clicking on this allows you to edit your profile. Many users use this to list their history with the gaming hobby, their gaming goals and achievements, what games they are planning to play soon, their all time favourites - anything that they think will be of interest to other users when they visit the profile. Hit Submit and your profile information will be saved.

Below your collection information are two editable lists - a top 10 and a hot 10. These can show your all time favourite games and what your current passions are.

In your RPG Geek Preferences box, there is a link to the RPGGeek Web Widget. That link takes you to a form to create a display on your profile or on an external website that shows your recently played games, your top 10, your wishlist, or random games from your collection.

There are many options to select and customise it. If you want to show it on your profile, you must choose Display as Image. When you've finished choosing, hit Generate Code. You can see what it will look like in the Preview box, and can then choose different options and generate the code again until you are happy. The RPGG code can then be copied and pasted into your user profile.

If you click on the Interests tab it takes you to another page of your profile. Clicking on the yellow pencil there allows you to edit your interest lists in the categories given of hobbies, favorite books, favorite movies, favorite music, and favorite TV shows. Enter names, titles or phrases separated by commas. Unlike some other sites, your lists are not automatically alphabetized, so they will stay in the order that you enter them. Hit Submit and they are saved. You should see a list of blue links now. Clicking on one will take you to a list of all registered users who share that interest. These matches are exact - so only people who have entered the exact word or phrase in the same category will register.
