After a quick look at the forest on her side of the river, Cambria unties the rope and looks for something nearby to tie her end to. She calls back, "You can sit on the log and crawl over! It's not very dignified, but it should be easier that way. And if you tie the rope around yourself, I can haul you in on this side if you slip."

Siobhan seeing that Cambria and Nestor cross safely, waits for Cambria to secure the rope before fashioning a harness out of the other end of the rope around Grunn. I wonder if the rope and your beard could be entwined together for a strong bond...

Survival check on harness: 1d20+5 = (19) + 5 = 24

My turn to cross. As she walks across the log with the hopes that having both ends of the rope secured (one to the Dwarf and the other to Cambria or tree) it will be easier to traverse the log and using the rope as a balance.

Acrobatics: 1d20+4 = (9) + 4 = 13

Grunn tugs at the rope to make sure it is secure, then puts a foot on the log experimentally. He stops and thinks for a moment about crawling over as Nestor did, but shakes his head, grits his teeth and tries to hurry over with as much dignity as he can muster.

Acrobatics: 1d20-3 = (5) - 3 = 2
I don't know if the Dwarven Stability trait would be of any help here (+4 to avoid being bull rushed or tripped) but I will take any help I can get...

Grunn slips on a patch of moss and lands in the river with a gigantic splash. He struggles, but the weight of his armor starts to drag him down to the bottom...

Turn 1: Swim: 1d20-3+2 = (9) - 3 + 2 = 8
Turn 2: Swim? 1d20-3+2 = (3) - 3 + 2 = 2
Turn 3: Swim! 1d20-3 = (3) - 3 = 0

Evidently, tying a rope to a dwarf's beard wasn't the best idea, as a part of Grunn's beard gets torn off. Ouch!

Eventually, Grunn does manage to make it out of the river but only after taking 3 points of non-lethal damage.

Grunn drags himself up the bank, wheezing and gasping.

"We (cough) should camp away (gasp) from the bank. (retch) The water will (cough, weeze) attract beasties..."

After a few moments, he staggers to his feet and follows the group to wherever they wish to camp. He then builds a fire, strips down to his skivvies, wipes down his armor and tries to dry out all of his equipment.

We should put Nestor in the middle of camp.

Siobhan volunteers for first watch. Listening intently and peering around using the campfire to help with her low light vision, she keeps her bow readied but not pulled back. Perception: 1d20+10 = (10) + 10 = 20

Grunn stands up and stretches. "Why didn't anyone wake me for a turn at watch? It feels like I been sleeping for a week!"

He checks his clothing and armor to make sure they are dry, then puts them on and stirs up the embers of the fire to cook a bit of breakfast.

Siobhan is keeping watch, when, all of a sudden, a jaguar leaps from the trees, landing on top of 1custom3{Grunn;Torbril;Siobhan} -> ( Torbril) -> ( Torbril) and bites him.
