Welcome to our In Character thread. This is where our game will actually take place.
In order to see things clearly in our series of posts, please type your actions in normal font, your dialogs in bold text between quotation marks if possible and you character's thoughts in italics.
If you wish so, you may even use a particular color to personalize your character's dialogs and thoughts, but please refrain from using them with action texts.
Short OOC (Out-of-Character) commentaries and dice rolls will have to be typed in gray color. Please use the following tag without the space character [ COLOR=gray][/COLOR]. It works with 'grey' and other color words as well.
For longer OOC interventions, please post them in our OOC thread:
http://rpggeek.com/thread/909122/ooc-chargen-2013-pbf-initia...
Finally, please try and thumb every post so so I know everyone is on the same page as far as plot/checking the threads.
And don't forget to subscribe.
Okay, let's go get some action now.

Paris, 25 August 1944
The 2nd French Armored Division and 4th US Infantry division have entered Paris the day before, bringing invaluable help to the Patriots, winning an invaluable victory against the occupying Wehrmacht forces in Paris.
The French capital is now free, but not all German soldiers have surrendered, some splinter groups of enemy resistance still hiding, trying to regain hold of the situation, maybe even attempt something against General De Gaulle, president of the Provisional Government of the French Republic, who is to make a public speech from the 'Hôtel de Ville' later today.
And this is around the 'Jardin du Luxembourg', (the Luxembourg Gardens) that our squad led by Sergeant "Redneck" Butler has been sent patrolling...

Lenny shouts, "Hooyah" as he puts on his helmet over the black bandana he's wearing. Lifting his Garand, he checks that its locked and loaded.
He scans the area, checking the windows and rooflines as he steps out into the street. He takes up a position near the end of the skirmish line and prepares to move out.

Points to an entrance into the gardens.

You're starting to patrol The Jardins du Luxembourg and passing the barricades erected by the Occupation Forces, you're both struck by the aristocratic beauty of the place and the strange dead quietness that resides in this area.
As you're advancing into the woods, you can see that the place looks completely deserted, and you have the feeling that the enemy is lying there, waiting as a cornered predator to jump on its prey.
OOC: I need a Notice roll please.

In the silence, Lenny scans his portion of the line checking out the trees as well as ground cover.

OOC: screwed up adding the roll the first time.

The smoke from his cigarette swirls around his head in the dead silence as Redneck mutters loud enough for his men to hear him.

You manage to position yourself thanks to a map given during your briefing with your Sergeant-Major, but even though you know you're not alone in that area, you can't really detect where your hostiles are.

Redneck looks around at the men and in a discrete whisper that was probably louder than he would like.
Gentlemen! Fan out y'all know better than to bunch yourselves up! Reeves you take point. Lenny you bring up the read. The rest of ya's fall into skirmish formation, 10 foot intervals. Move out!
As gives his orders Redneck point straight ahead
I'll take a position at I1

John Reeve moves forward to take up Point. As he nears the trees ahead, he hears what sounds like German voices coming from behind them.
He dives to the ground H4 and gestures wildly at the small copse, hoping that the others realise that there's danger ahead.

Seeing Reeves drop to the deck and give the hand signal for the others to follow. While dropping down, Redneck give the hand signal for the others to drop to the deck. Setting his sights on the copse of trees to the front, he scans the tree line from left to right. Periodically scanning the tree lines that flank their positions on the left and right for any signs of movement.
He hopes his men have not become to soft in the lull of the American advance into French.
Redneck awaits the point man's signal.

Keeping his head down as much as possible, Reeve signals that he has heard Germans from the area of the trees ahead. Number unknown, but more than one. He signals for two men to circle left and two more to circle right, while he crawls forward to the edge of the copse at H5
