As you may have seen in Aldie's site-wide post here, the Golden Geek nomination process has been completed and the best of the best are now locked and loaded and ready for you to vote on! We've had amazing selections for previous years and based on the amazing nominations, we expect this year will be no different!

The nominees are below and are shown in Alphabetical order. Due to oddness in Podcasts (new shows drop all the time), Walking Eye Podcast was given a nomination for 2012 even though they won in 2011 (normally a game or book is released once - unlike podcasts which drop continually). Oh well... we'll address this next year

Voting instructions are at the bottom.

You vote here: RPG

And to showcase your support for any of the nominees, you can select any microbadge in our system that represents any of the nominated games, companies, designers or artists. We'll try to get micros made for those Game of the Year choices that don't already have one... stay tuned. To claim your micro, just post below (one free micro per person... please).

Here are some of the micros we have in the system already:

More are being added all the time - so be sure to search for them.

Instructions (copied from Aldie's post):

* Select the appropriate category from the buttons at the top of the page.
* Rank the items by clicking on the box and selecting the rank.
* Duplicate rankings are OK if you think the items are equivalent.
* Change a rank to N/A if you have no opinion on an item.
* 1 is Highest - 10 is Lowest

Your votes are recorded immediately and may be changed up until the time voting closes (11:59 PM CST - October 31, 2011).

The final voting will resolved using the Schulze method - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schulze_method

As usual, voting is restricted to either supporting users (having a supporter badge from any year is sufficient) or voters who pay a one-time 20 GeekGold fee, or users who have purchased an avatar.

From Dave: If you are a well-meaning Geek and want to vote but don't meet the criteria above... please contact me via Geekmail and we'll figure something out.

Okay, let's hear it - what do you think about the nominees?!

I would love a Marvel Heroic badge if there is one.

How did Roleplay DNA not make the Podcast list? Is it too new?

Also how is the Beginner Box for Pathfinder a Supplement, it's core rules, it's what you buy to play?

I think they are very good nomination lists... except that I find the nominations for 13th Age and Dungeon World to be very strange since final versions of each have not been released. I've played and enjoyed Dungeon World but didn't nominate it for that reason. I also won't vote it for Game of the Year for that reason.

Best Podcast is my hardest category. I really love Ken and Robin Talk About Stuff, This Just In...From Gen Con!, and The Canon Puncture Show.

There was a glitch of some sort in the nomination process regarding Savage Worlds Deluxe. It was on the list for Artwork and Presentation... but not for Game of the Year. I tried writing it in and mentioned it a few times. IMO, a shame.

I'll take  Savage Worlds RPG fan . Thanks!

I nominated it...

Ken and Robin Talk About Stuff is newer, so I don't think that's it. I think it gets overlooked because it falls between the Pathfinder/D&D and "indie" podcasts.

I think I'm going to soil my shorts, because two of my company's books are nominated, Never Unprepared: The Complete Game Master's Guide to Session Prep and Masks: 1,000 Memorable NPCs for Any Roleplaying Game! wow

The number of excellent items in every category is fantastic to see. Based on the ones sitting on my shelves, like Marvel Heroic Roleplaying: Basic Game, The One Ring: Adventures over the Edge of the Wild, Ashen Stars, Night's Black Agents, and Dungeon Crawl Classics Role Playing Game, competition is going to be fierce. What a great list of nominees!

Working on this one too. The main problem with having micros for nominated stuff is that you have to wait for the nominations to come out - so it's always playing catch-up!

When they are available, I'll be sure to send these micros out to those who requested them.

Well deserved! I have Masks and it's top-shelf stuff for sure.

You're going up against the Paizo juggernaut who has 4 products in Best Supplement. The Pathfinder Block sorted next to eachother due to the alphabetizing. Gonna be a great October of voting coming up!

Congratulations Martin, that's a great achievement!

Excellent list of nominees this year; some tough decisions to be made

And I'd love a Dungeon World micro (presumeably when one exists!).

Tough choice. I may have to dip into my GeekGold hoard to buy some of these myself.

But, for the free micro, I'll go with Dungeon World (since it sounds like MHR has more than its share of support).

Congrats to Martin and Brad Murray et al. for the nominations! Well deserved!

I would like to say, though, that maybe there should be a rule that only published games should be eligible for nominations. At least Dungeon World has (barely) seen the light of day in a nearly-final pre-release version. But 13th Age hasn't even released the final rules yet, much less a book with any sort of layout!

That said, the list is mighty impressive! Congratulations to everyone nominated!
