Oh man, my kids had just turned one when this Kickstarter was running. Now they're in second grade. At this rate, when the game comes out, they'll be old enough to play this game with me.

That seems an optimistic time frame.

If he actually does this, FW might be released this decade. But, I give it a week:

1) I don't believe he'll be able to do this. He's too political a person to not rant about it online.

2) Even if he does, it won't speed Far West up any. He'll just go back to what he did on Twitter before the election - random sharing of random things he finds online.

3) He blocked me on Twitter following last week's exchange.

Collateral damage: vestige loses even more respect for Sean Patrick Fannon. It really does not seem hard to me to follow one simple rule as a creator:

I do not understand why there are defenders either. So, has the level of respect fallen to less than zero yet?

Huh. I hadn't seen Fannon's response. Twitter never notified me of it. Now that I have, I think I'm done buying Savage Worlds product for a while, though.

Skarka, meanwhile did respond to let me know it'd been the hardest six years of his life.

Then I asked if he'd considered updating his backers, and he claimed he was holding off on updating until he has "something major & concrete to deliver." And then sometime in the next two or three days, he blocked me.

It was pretty low to begin with!

I had an exchange with Fannon on EN World when it was revealed that his "What's New" posts on that site were actually affiliate links, so he got paid every time someone bought something based on his recommendation. He claimed he wasn't a journalist so this was perfectly fine. I pointed out that EN World had just started a Patreon so that people would pay them for "news" coverage, so that was BS. He got snippy.

Alas, this was all deleted when EN World got hacked and had to revert to some backups.

To his credit, now he does mention in very small type at the end of his entries that he uses affiliate links...this is why it hadn't already fallen to zero. But the whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth.

Now, please return to your regularly scheduled Far West misery.

From the KS

Maybe my grandchildren will be able to play this.

Well - I know this isn't really the place for this..BUT...I suspect this thread probably has more eyeballs than just about anywhere else here.

And since we've got a crowd gathered - why not do some good?

The Hurricane Harvey Relief Bundle on RPGNOW/Drivethru has over $400 of pdfs for just a $25 donation.

We've got a ton of products in there spanning various genres and rules sets (OSR, Savage Worlds, M&M, ICONS and many many more).

While there's not any wuxia/western mashups in there - there is a lot of gaming goodness to be had. And it's for a great cause.

Please consider giving it a look and spreading the word on your social media.

GMS has done work, but as usual, it has nothing to do with Far West:

My assumption these days is that GMS paid for work rather than doing it himself. The biggest clue to this is that it's done. If GMS had needed to work, it'd still be in layout.

Given the tweet, I see the following options:

A. Admitting that Far West still needs to be written.
B. Writing non-Far West material (Star Trek perhaps?)
C. Not writing anything but trying to make it look like he is working.

Meanwhile, on the KS front:

Quote:
Rowdy Scarlett

Personally, I have vowed never to purchase anything involving Skarka again. Once burned by this guy is enough. Face it, folks. The project is dead. Move on. Skarka should be banned from the industry.

Given how often he blocks people, I am surprised he has any followers at all.

I got an e-mail from OneBookShelf letting me know that Adamant's Thrilling Tales supplement for Savage Worlds had been updated in my library.

My first reaction was puzzlement: I don't particularly like Savage Worlds and couldn't imagine why I'd have ever bought anything for it. Then I remembered that this was one of many books included in a charity bundle I'd purchased many years ago.

Anyway, to make a long story short, it turns out that OneBookShelf lets you delete items permanently from your library. :-)

I didn't know that. I will have to go clean out my OneBookShelf. I have a ton of things in there that I would NOT have purchased, but they came in charity bundles or in sale/holiday bundles and I will never read them.

This is actually my reason for never getting one of those bundles ever again. Too much useless filler in there.
