I read (most of) the core book a while ago, and am re-skimming it as a refresher.

I've never played anything using the Cypher system.

I've played the game once, have read a good portion of the Core rules. i own the Devil's spine, but haven't read anything except the covers. I'll be sure not to spoil it for myself, so that book is shelved until we finish.

I should be able to have my Nano posted this weekend.

I have been running Numenera in a home game for about a year and half and a second campaign online now that the first ended. I also run demo games for MCG (although that sounds more involved than it really is). I am quite familiar with the rules but dont let that intimidate you. I am a easy going GM and will never object.

I have only played numenera a few times during the playtest and about 3 sessions into the Devil's spine (dont worry I wont spoil anything and I can keep pc/player knowledge separate)

Since we are only using the Core book, I reworked my character.
I now have a Stealthy Jack who carries a Quiver.

I read over the character creation section last night. I'm still hesitating in between a jack or a glaive. If my count is right there is only one jack and two glaives. So maybe leaning more towards a jack. Still not sure what type.

2 of the same archetype can turn out to be pretty different yeah?
also, does this game require a golden trifecta or whatever it's called? (tank healer dps)

Yes, two of the same "class" can turn out significantly different. I think the "who ....." part of creation is the most distinctive part of the character. I see no need to balance out the "classes" too much. All characters have the same three pools, and if you find you need more of one than another, you can upgrade it with XP.

Also, with 8 characters to get this thing started, I'm sure everything will be covered.
