Well, I am finally done with my horrid job. I wouldn't say it was a complete waste of 3 years, but it was close.

One week until I go up to Iowa to stay with some family and see Alton Brown mb. I will be staying up there for a week, then it is off to Seattle where my friend will be picking me up from the airport. From there it is a nice road trip south along the coast, the end destination being Eugene Oregon. My new home!

This is going to be an absolutely amazing adventure, full of places I have never seen before. I am far beyond excited. I have a feel this is exactly what I need!

I hope you have a brilliant time!

I have been away from associations and voluntary work for a couple of years. This year, however, I decided to start anew. This is what happened:

I am in the board of the Finnish Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers.
I am in the board of Finnwatch.
I am the chairman of the Finnish Bipolar Association.
I am in the council of the Finnish Central Association for Mental Health.

Oops.

I've taken myself off the anxiety medication over the past week. So far the withdrawal symptoms suck bad, I've been moderately non-functional since then. However, that's better than the side-effects I was having over the past few months, which pretty much were crippling me emotionally and physically.

One day at a time, all.

My PPI payment came in today from Barclays.

£1700 (will need to give 20% to the claims guys). Woohoo! Crazy thing is the amount I paid was only £60. The rest was all interest!!!

I highly recommend any UK folk who think they may have paid PPI to look into it! Free money!!

Right now - nothing.

But the £1300 I'll be left with will pay off a loan making me £50 per month better off; and will make the summer holidays less worrysome (wife not on full teacher wage so no pay for 6 weeks!).

So I may not get anything now but it'll make buying some later a lot safer!

3 weeks later, I'm back in control!

The drivers seat is a little dusty and cracked, there's some cobwebs that need to be cleaned up. Occasionally things are bit too sharp, and I need to re-learn how to not cut myself on everything. Was only 18 months, but it felt a lot longer.
