"Qui comincia l'avventura" ("Here the adventure begins") is a very easy system actually born for the first choose-your-own-adventure gamebook by Italian author, "In cerca di fortuna" ("Seeking fortune"), by Andrea Angiolino, published by Ripostes in 1987. It was then transformed into a RPG in 1991 to become the core system of "Mediterraneo".
Characters have 4 attributes: Agility, Strenght, Dialectics, Concentration. Each is rolled as one white dice minus a colored one. Each attribute ranges then from +5 to -5 and is at the same time the bonus for rolls. Tests are done with one white dice minus a colored one, applying then the relevant attribute (or attributes, even of different characters) and a -1/-3 modifier for difficulty decided buy the Master: if the result is 0 or positive, the roll is succesful. If it is negative, the roll fails. If the white and the colored die give the same number, the roll is perfectly succeeded if the number is even and totally failed if the number is odd.
The system is also used by "Orlando Furioso" and "Sulle sponde del Nilo". Quite elaborated, it is also the base on which "Il gioco di ruolo di Dragonball+Dragonball Z" is developed. It later appear with the title of "Qui comincia l'avventura" in the "Inventare destini" book about RPGs in schools and libraries, together with three different settings and adventures taken from movies and developed with whole classrooms of kids.
