Who I am
It’s not really important, is it? Well, there are many elements about me that are or aren’t relevant. I’m a 29 year-old French academician, mostly giving classes and working on my doctorate thesis.
I am female, but I don’t think about my gender identity much. I use feminine pronouns, mostly by default but if you use “they/them” I’ll just shrug: as long as I understand you’re speaking to me or about me I’m good to go ;)
My American friends would classify me as “white”, but my ethnicity isn’t really relevant to myself or to anyone surrounding me; identities and communities are very different in France, and considering the country was rolled over by so many ethnic groups… I see myself as mixed race as I have Arabic and German ancestry I somewhat relate to and identify with
I’m an atheist, but I don’t mind discussing religion because I’m educated enough to differentiate culture, practices, beliefs systems, dogma and faith. I don’t label neither my sexual nor my romantic preferences, but I am happily married and am not interested in pursuing anyone else.
