Usagi Yojimbo is a role-playing game set in an alternate 17th century Japan inhabitat by anthropomorphic animals. The setting is based on the comics created by Stan Sakai.
This is the second role-playing game based on the Usagi Yojimbo books. The first was published by Gold Rush Games whereas this here is a product of Sanguine Games.
Attributes and skills are assigned different types of dice. During character creation, the dice for the five attributes can be distributed from a fixed pool (1d8, 3d6, 1d4), or may be rolled up using a d20 roll on a table. Skills ranks (called marks) give one or more dice to roll a given skill. The player can distribute a number of points freely to the skills available. There are also "gifts", special abilities that come with the race and career you choose. Additionally, a number of gifts can be picked freely from the list.
Actions are resolved by rolling the dice of an attribute or skill against a target number that is either set by the GM or a result of an opposing roll.
