RAPIER is an elf fantasy roleplaying game, the third RPG designed by Nordic the Incurable (aka Risto J. Hieta) and published by ACE Pelit in 1989. After RAPIER was sold out, the successor Elhendi was published in 1993 and then a new successor Melidian was published in 2013 by Ville Laakkonen, a fan of original RAPIER and Elhendi and with Nordic's approval.
The game setting is Tolkien-style fantasy world, but all the player characters are elfs. The rules allow character development without tightly binding classes or professions and exact skills. The charactres still need to belong to one of three class-types, named: WARTER/FIGHIOR, MAZARD/WIGE, ANIMER/RANGIST. Rules are based on multiple dice, mostly on precentile die. The game has also simple magic system and the spells are named in english even though the whole game is finnish.
