Shatterzone is a space opera role-playing game by West End Games. The game shares a lot in common with their Star Wars Roleplaying Game. In this game the humans and two other races are granted full citizenship while the others suffer prejudice.
The game gets its name from the Shatterzone, an unchartable and mysterious sector of space which consists of dark matter, strange gravitational phenomena, energy storms, asteroids, cult worshippers, alien exiles, and deep space miners.
Shatterzone comes with a special card deck which gamemasters can use to help control the dramatic pace of conflict or to give critical tasks even more tension by eliminating certain performance steps.
Note: The game supposedly became a repository for all of the West End Games' Star Wars material which was rejected by Lucasfilm.
