Description & Background

Nali Tuckborough has always been the black sheep of the Tuckboroughs. Some say it's because of the concussion he received as child after falling from a tree he was climbing, though the fact he was climbing a tree in the first place seemed to indicate something wasn't quite right with him. Others think that he inherited it from his grandfather Bollo 'Longshanks' Tuckborough who's wanderlust got the better of him, donned a backpack and left Crickhollow one Summer's morning never to be seen again.

Many cautionary tales and family legends have been woven about Bollo's disappearance but these stories were the catalyst for Nali's own stirrings of discontentment with life in Crickhollow, along with the tales of Men and Dwarves, Elves and Goblins, Frost giants and the cataclysm that shattered their realms. Unlike all the other Halflings he knew, Nali wanted to see these things for himself, to find out what happened to his grandfather, and discover what lay beyond the idyllic pastures of his homeland.

Indeed it now seems a lifetime ago when he, like his grandfather before him, secretly packed what he thought he would need, and stole out of his family's smial early in the morning without once looking back and headed into the wilderness beyond his small world.

Now Nali has found himself in the port of Esterhaven after many adventures and near-death escapes out in the wild lands. He's finally come to realise that it's not too safe in the forests and hills of Langemark alone and if he wants to see his 30th birthday it might be a good idea to find some like-minded adventurers to share the road with...

Background:
Jerwynn remembers... he remembers the tales told to him growing up in this city of man - stories of forests and how ‘his’ people had lived among the woodlands. He grew up on these stories and his kin took him beyond the wall and far from the water to hunt, to venture where man is not. Jerwynn learned much from these ventures, encountered remnants of dwellings and objects that some would say was of his people - the Sylvan - as they fled something deadly, devastating.

It was on one of these forays outside the walls, away from man that Jerwynn felt his spite for others. One in his party did not carry his own as they fought an aberration, a creature that they had to keep from coming towards the populated areas near the port. He spoke his mind after they slayed the creature and the man took to arms against him. Jerwynn made no haste in dealing with this lazy, excuse for a fighter - and regretted it since. He took the drinking when other elves were not about - and then he took to the fights, brawls that people bet upon, to release this anger at himself and the life he is cursed to live in this dead land.

Jerwynn of late as taken to lurking over the walls and walking along in the outskirts just to be at the edge of the wilds that he wished would be his home. He vowed to himself to go forth and find someplace that he could claim again for the Sylvan, a place those that look to him to conquer and lead them home - a place none can remember much anymore.

Description & Background

Tirnel has never known his homeland. His earliest memories are of a meager existence living in the woods with his family, where few civilized men dared to venture. But, oh, the stories they told: of the great, lost elven cities, lovingly shaped from the living wood. How he longed to find them.

But, around five years back, when Tirnel was barely on the cusp of adulthood, his family was set upon by human bandits and slain. Bereft and alone, he was forced to make his way to the nearest point of civilization, Esterhaven. Slow to trust after his first experience with humans, he made few friends there and found that a charmed person often fit his needs just as well. And so it was that Tirnel found there was little to hold him back from a life of adventuring: the comfortable city life surrounded by strange people held no allure for him, and, from the stories his parents told in his youth, he knew that the great elven cities were out there, beyond the barricades, waiting to welcome him.

Description & Background:

Arturo began his adventuring life as a simple friar. Stationed in a small town it was his duty to attend the spiritual needs of locals and travellers alike.
When evil humanoids attacked, his role changed to provide healing and support for the soldiers called to defend the town.
Realising that his life as a simple friar was limiting the potential he had to serve Valdyn, Arturo took up mace and shield joining some of the mercenaries hired to defend the town.
Since then he has taken up the adventuring life full-time, seeking companionship and excitement amongst like-minded individuals; all the while extolling the virtues of Valdyn through faith, might and steel!

Description & Background
Marrath, which was not her name back then, was a foundling, abandoned by her real parents in a dark and stormy night,
left alone in a cave, noone knows why.....
She couldn´t walk yet, but was strong and curious enough to crawl on her fours outside the cave, after the sunrise.
The first thing she saw was a falcon, how it wheeled above the valley.
Fascinated by it, she suddenly was able to stand up on her feet and reach out with her hands to the falcon, challenging it to come to her.
She was dauntless!
And the falcon came to her, landed on her small hand.....
All this had been observed through a spyglass by the chief of a huge family of hunters, wandering about the country.
Now it was him who was fascinated by the fearless little girl, which seemed to have a subtle connection to the falcon.
The group agreed upon affiliating this wondrous girl, maybe one day she would be useful?
As years passed by - she had been named Marrath - she became an extraordinary falcon-tamer, in fact she trained the falcons to hunt,
using the spyglass to follow their flights and hunts.
And this is how she was given the name "Marrath Falconsflight the Dauntless".
When the chief of the group died, he bequeathed the spyglass to Marrath, the only one worthy, and the only one who would cherish it.
Many years later - the group had fallen apart, and their falcons all had died due to an unknown illness - she packed her bag and left to take care of herself.
Well - she became a thief.
She just took care of herself.......and then came the cataclysm...
She was just able to save herself, while watching the world around her going down.
So right now she finds herself in Esterhaven, looking around.....

Description & Background
There has never been a time that Thalek Spinebreaker has never fought. Fighting is in his blood-- in his lineage. The Spinebreaker Clan has had quite a tenuous and tumultuous relationship with the neighboring Clans, whom all are related. If it isn't defending his land, Thalek is busy defending his honor and character against other clans with ill-speaking tongues.

A recent skirmish with the Broadfoot clan almost cost Thalek's brother, Torek, his life. Shot by a cursed arrow, Thalek rode non-stop for days on his warhorse named Abarra to bring his brother to a wise healer. In-turn he was to travel to distant lands so that he may find a certain magical object that can lift the curse.

Thalek searches far and wide for this magical object, without it, his brother lives in constant torment and agony, as surely but slowly, his enemies begin to encroach on his land.
