This is a chronological list of RPG periodicals in German language (including translations from foreign language magazines). Some of these journals have RPGs as their main (or only) focus, others deal with games or fantasy in general, including RPGs.

Since the RPGgeek database is still missing entries, this list does not claim to be complete. See the lump of coal at the end of the list. There are more than 100 German periodicals in our database, and at least some 50 more not entered yet. If you have information on any of these, please help to improve RPGGeek!

Entries in the list feature a boiled-down information header, giving the full title, years of publishing (in red or green, depending on their current inactive/ active status), number of issues published, the publisher and - to the best of my knowledge - their publishing schedule, e.g. "bi-monthly". I'd love to include circulation numbers, but I'll only have them in very few, lucky cases, so don't expect anything exhaustive.

Adventure Master: Magazin für Rollenspiele
1986(?)-1990 (issues 1-10 and one special/collection; print)
self-published by Thilo Bayer et al.

''Adventure Master'' (AM) was a German RPG fanzine that was edited by Thilo Bayer, other members of the editorial team were Sven (Brinkmann?), Michael (Ickes?), and Harald (?), from issue #7 onward Frank Bezner and Ralf Tempel (as credited in issues #7 and #10). It broadened its focus on DSA and MERS to include more general material. After the publication of the 1st edition of Private Eye in 1988 it published offical material for that game but was never limited to that. AM released ten issues (first in A5, the last three in A4 format) and a special (which reprinted contents from #1 and #2) and ceased publication in June 1990.

Der Pegasus: Ein DSA-Rollenspielfanzine
1987-1989 (Issues 1-8)
published by DSA-Club Vluyn

Klaus Lehnen (part of the editorial team) went on to create the fanzine Der Trodox - Ars Arcana in 1989, when it became clear that Pegasus would have to cease publication.

Der Basiliskentoeter
Das Fanzine für DSA- und D&D-Rollenspieler
Das Fanzine für alles und jeden
1987-1989 (Issues 1-8)
self-published about bi-monthly
by Björn Steinborn

Der Basiliskentoeter was the fanzine created by Björn Steinborn. The second issue (and presumably the first) had 16 pages, the third 20, and from the fourth issue on 24 pages (A5).

Circulation was small, but slowly increasing (3rd issue: 13 subscribers, 7th issue: 44 subscribers). Issue 5 mentions that the first four issues were reprinted.
