Despite his very cavalier attitude and his love for taverns and women, Célestin's new life as a Pathfinder and a Silver Crusader has become a real vocation. Nothing matters more now than the fight against the evils of this world, be they otherworldly or political.




Background:

Hailing from Woodsedge, Célestin Valette is the prodigal son of a bourgeois disillusioned with the Revolutionary Council and who fled the capital to the last bastion of independence in the country of Galt. Growing up as a spoiled child, Célestin nevertheless received a thorough education in the art of fencing which has recently become, alongside drinking, gambling and women, a real passion in his shallow and pointless life.

But an event made Célestin take a real turn in his life of debauchery: early on in his life, Célestin heard the exciting stories of Woodsedge’s heroin, Eliza Petulengro, a member of the Pathfinder Society. Growing up with a burning thirst for adventure, it fueled his desire to master the art of the blade.

It didn’t take long, however, for the Gray Gardeners to hear of this dangerously talented son of a wealthy dissident and to take actions. He was simply ambushed when it was at his weakest, when completely drunk and feeling utterly lucky after winning a few gold coins, a good-time girl at each arm. This surprise attack and the shrieks of the women fleeing the scene helped him sober up a little, not enough to react in time though.

Thinking he would meet his end before his life had even started, he begged for his life with tears. Then suddenly one fell down to the ground, and a second their backs crippled with arrows. The rest was quickly killed by a group of people who were obviously not from the area.

Eliza Petulengro, foreseeing all that, had decided to save his life. But seeing how pitiful he was, she demanded that he left the city, suffering no cowards to be such a liability to the good folks of Woodsedge, which he did that very night, ashamed of himself.

He travelled through Galt, witnessing injustice, summary executions and tolerated robberies, all in the name of liberty. Such suffering was too much for him to bear, so he started to make his own justice, defending the poor and the oppressed, eventually drawing the attention from The Silver Crusade, a faction of the Pathfinder Society, who came in contact with Célestin and left him little choice in the matter of serving their organization.

None could have prepared young Hak'Aoh to such a life of exile in disguise, but he tries to make the most of it to make his Temple proud and be allowed one day to return. Meanwhile, he serves the Lantern Lodge the best he can, crafts weapons here and there to earn a living and most importantly worships Irori through training and perfecting his martial arts and discovering new weapon techniques.




Background:

It was during a stormy night that an old Tian Dan monk from found on the road side a baby Half-Orc wailing under the body of his slaughtered father, crippled with arrows. Unable to leave him to die, the old man took him and brought him back to his temple in Xa Hoi.

Located near the mountain range and mining colonies, this temple worships Irori and honors him by training its monks to perfecting their use and crafts of weapons. And this is how the young Half-Orc who was given the name Hak'Aoh the first 15 years of his life, within the walls of the temple, training and honing his martial skills in a life of devotion to Irori, learning how to refrain from yielding to his aggressive nature, which wasn't easy.

However, this life was far from being idyllic as the other young Tian Dan monks would too often make him feel that he was different, alienating him in a way and resulting in frequent brawls that would always end up in Hak'Aoh being punished by his instructors and more senior monks.

Isolated, he would find solace in praying Irori, asking for the god of perfection to help him find his way towards balance and perfection. He would also train his martial skill until exhaustion every day and also develop his his love and his skills for weapon crafting as a challenge to the Tian Dan Clans who excel in artisan crafting.

But one fateful night, one of the bullies he had been growing with went too far and broke the weapons Hak'Aoh had been working on for months, a labor of love ruined in an instant. Anger and rage took the best of him and beat the other almost to death. It took several monks and some broken noses to bring him under control, and he got locked in a cell for a week awaiting his judgment which would likely turn out into banishment, and now he couldn't count on the usual protection of the man who had found him as the case was too serious.

The day of his judgment though, a stranger attended the trial, not a monk but a traveler who presented himself as a Venture Captain of the Pathfinder Society and of the Lantern Lodge proposed an alternative to Hak'Aoh's banishment. Their ranks needed new blood who wouldn't be afraid to risk their lives for a higher purpose. He had received a letter from the old monk telling him all about a talented young Half-Orc who needed to find his way and that he could achieve this through serving the Lantern Lodge.

And so it was decided that Hak'Aoh would leave the temple still as a monk, but that he would serve other masters now, not to return until he had proven Irori that he was better than his nature.

Now Hak'Aoh is 16 years old and travels from town to town, crafting weapons for a living until he receives his first instructions and his first mission.

Amekethios is quite conscious of his social position and of his role as a representative of Erastil in the material world. So to honour his deity, he constantly hones his skills as a divine archer, but also helps communities in many ways, but more importantly as a midwife.




Background:

Born in the little town of Crystalhurst in Nirmathas from two human parents, Amekethios the Aasimar with fiery golden hair and blazing emerald eyes was considered as a blessing from Erastil. He was soon taken in the God's Temple to learn to serve and fight in his name as well as to be trained in preserving his creed and code.

Very quickly, Amakethios participated in the harvests, construction works, hunting parties and celebrations. And developing a real talent as an archer and an uncanny gift as a healer and a midwife, he was more and mores sought out to help deliver babies or just attend as a symbol of Erastil's blessing, but also to lead sacred hunts.

However, he increasingly wondered about the meaning of his life beyond being a symbol for the community and one day, as his temple was putting some Pathfinders from the Society for a week, he would spend all his evening talking with them. Then he made up his mind and asked the authorization to leave and join the Society for a time.

And now that Amekethios has recently been accepted as a new Pathfinder from the Grand Lodge, he is looking forward to his first mission...
