Top Rope Games is a small press game design studio consisting of Josh Wheeler and Trevor Christensen. In late 2009 Trevor and Josh decided to pull the ideas they had together and create a role playing game for no better reason than they wanted to.
Josh has been playing games since early childhood. Some of his first role playing game memories include the Dungeons & Dragons Red Box Basic Set and Wizardry on the family's first computer. Like many avid gamers, he credits Tolkien with much of his love of the fantastic. Reading the Lord of the Rings series half a dozen times in the sixth grade set Josh on an irredeemable path. He even remembers creating a homebrew fantasy RPG to be played during seventh grade math classes. Since those innocent times, Josh has wandered many gaming roads, from Warhammer to Star Trek, from Legend of the Five Rings to Mouseguard. More recently, as a happily married father of five, he has settled into a steady boardgaming and writing habit. He considers himself an enthusiast equipped with more excitement than sense. Josh is the lead setting designer for Top Rope Games.
Trevor has been playing role playing games since he was 13. His first game was an second edition AD&D Dragonlance game with a new friend he had made at scout camp. He shirked all responsibilities for the next week and spent all of his time playing the game. Since then Trevor has played and ran in numerous campaigns, settings, and various game systems. He considers himself a student of RPG game design and game mechanics. He is the lead rules designer for Top Rope Games.
