Previous session Pathfinder Adventure Path - Stolen Lands - Session 3
Last time we had investigated another part of the forest and came by a hole underneath a huge trea in which probably some big and very likely dangerous creature could live. We had no desire to meet it at that point and moved on.
We kept exploring the woods. After a while the sun set and it became evening. We put up our camp in the vicinity of a small brook. Near enough to get some water in the morning, far away enough not to be dragged in, in the middle of the night by nasty creatures. You never know what roams in those waters. Deivond has the first watch and Quomaugh the second. While Deivon and Ledithas are sound asleep, suddenly Ledithas awakes. He has heard something fly over. He can't see anything that might have caused this but thought it sounded like an owl. He stays awake for half an hour but nothing else happens.
In the morning they all awake. Quomaugh and Ledithas look at Deivon with a strange look. His face is all black! Do you feel all right? Deivon feels fine. Who did this? You Ledithas? Ahem, why would I (a paladin) do such a foolish thing? We are in this together, no reason for me to do such a thing. Deivon admits it is a rather foolish idea. All our weapons and gear are still present, nothing is stolen. Are there any tracks where Deivon slept? There are some tracks of a lizard, probably the size of a cat. They left charcoal all over Deivon his face while he slept.
Suddenly Deivon starts to laugh. Finally it is starting to make sense to him (after plenty of failed knowledge checks in earlier sessions). We have ourselves a tiny teaser. Making us victims of pranks by fairies. Their pranks can intensify if we cannot appease them. They like shiny things and amongst others some alcohol We leave some alcohol in a chestnut Deivon picked up and hope they accept the offer. Quomaugh spots a little bunny and Deivon start to crave for some nice bunny meal. Although for some reason Deivon is in a strange mood, now he doesn't believe Quomaugh. As if there is a reason to lie about it. Quomaugh and Ledithas search for edible plants while Deivon spots some deer tracks. Following the tracks we indeed find a solemn, majestic deer, staring at us like he never has seen any humanoid before. Deivon now is really having an appetite for some deer meat. Ledithas protests. They have plenty of rations, why kill all animals in the woods? Deivon casts his sleeping spell and Quo goes for the coupe de grace. The animal moans still, it takes another merciful hit before it dies. Ledithas states he doesn't like this to happen again, unless they are attacked by one.
Another day has passed. This time Ledithas takes first watch, followed by Quo and Deivon. During Ledithas' watch Quomaugh suddenly screams in pain. His cheek hurts like someone has hit him there. Those fairies are still not pleased apparently. Maybe we should try another gift. Amongst our shiny items we still carry the golden music box we got from the bandit camp. Deivon uses a jute bag which we put on the ground with a hole underneath. We try to catch one of them. It works and we find ourselves with a small dragon with a long tail and butterfly wings. It is a Perlivash. And another one appears with the body of a cricket and somewhat humanlike forms, a Tyg-Titter-Tut. They seem to like us now. Kressel is not a favourite of them, she is rather mean from their personal experiences and she leaves them no presents. They tell us about a huge bear near a rock we have passed apparently and about a warm water source. We do have to watch out for giant frogs (about 2 meters high!) there. They keep the music box and invite us to come visit their home soon.
It is still night, Deivon now picks up his watch again. Suddenly a lot of click, click, click of strange huge steps being taken. Ledithas cannot sense anything evil but does see a giant centipede coming their way. About 7 meters tall and 1,5 meter high. It seems hungry, jaws opened wide. Ledithas bashes with his bastard sword and Quo hits it hard with his double axe. The giant whipped tail centipede however figths back, biting Quo his leg and dealing him almost lethal damage! Deivon shoots purple light balls towards the centipede who gets rather annoyed at it. Ledithas tries to kill the beast and hurts it even more. Quo has dropped his axe, retreats out of the vicinity of the centipede and quickly shoots an arrow at a vulnerable spot. Deivon uses another magic missile and we luckily have overcome the centipede. Quomaugh uses his cure of light wounds and gets a fair amount of healing although he isn't yet his old self.
We head north-east (after picking up Quo his axe again) and notice a large nest in a silver fir. Suddenly Perlivash flies towards us. He is rather happy we are at his home. So this is his home. Lots of trees, the ground and the sky. He asks if we have some radishes for him? We do not, but promise to look out for them and bring him some if we find them. We spend the nigth under the silver fir, Quomaugh is healing rather nicely with a good and this time undisturbed night rest. Next morning we head for the radish fields as Perlivash has shown us the way there. We explore the area in the mean time as well. At the radish fields we discover 4 kobolds who are moaning on the ground amidst of the radish fields. The open spot where they lie is shaped like the tip of an arrow. Why would that be and where is it pointing to? The kobolds are attempting to get up. Deivon casts a sleeping spell and 3 of them drop back to the ground. The fourth makes a miserable attempt to attack Ledithas but poorly misses. Quo charges him and knocks him unconscious. Their gear isn't too impressive but is taken away from them anyway. Now what is so special about these moonradishes......

Thanks for posting these session reports. My group is currently progressing through Kingmaker adventure path as well (we are almost at the end of the second module I believe) so it is interesting to see how another group deals with the encounters (our Dm changed a few things as well).
Funny that you talk about the radishes as that is a running gag with our group - won't drop any spoilers, but we found the radishes on our first foray out of Olegs... and promptly ate them all. Figured we would save on provisions by living off the wild . Now we joke about eating/selling any unusual item we find just to make our Dm's life harder.

Thanks! As the radishes didn't seem to go well with the kobolds we weren't thinking about eating them. But making it more difficult for our DM is always a nice thing to aim for.
