This is the Out Of Character Thread for Hollows Last Hope.
D0: Hollow's Last Hope
All players should subscribe to this thread (and, eventually, the In Character [IC] thread we create).
To see the character possibilities you can pick for this adventure, see:
HollowsLastHope
And post below to discuss freely. The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Beginner Box comes with the 4 iconic characters and they added a 5th (the Barbarian) as a free download extension to the Beginner Box. I've purposely avoided giving you the full character sheets with stats on them for now (we'll get to that soon). Just pick based on the 'feel' of the character.
No rush on any of this...
Edit: the In-Character thread is at [IC] D0: Hollow's Last Hope

Hello team !
Characters look very interesting. I would happily play any of them EXCEPT the Cleric.
Wizard or Rogue would be swell but, I'll take any of them. Even the Cleric.

Great to see you guys taking advantage of my game! It's going to rock, I promise! We use the Out of Character thread to discuss anything related to the game but not specifically the game play iteself. So it's pretty loose in here.
Now...
In past editions of D&D, the Cleric has been thought of as the 'party medic'. Fortunately, Pathfinder has largely fixed this problem with the ability for a Cleric to channel energy and mass-heal his allies so he can get back to more interesting endevours!
(ps: my favorite class is Cleric having played one since 1980).

Hello everyone. I've been looking forward to this ever since having a great time during Mountains of Madness. I'm really glad it made it onto BGG front page so I didn't miss it.
I read about the characters and they all seem interesting but I guess in order of preference I like: 1. Fighter 2. Cleric 3. Wizard 4. Barbarian 5. Rogue
Of course I'm willing to play any.

Do we need to buy the Beginner's Box (or PDF's) to play this?

Pretty sure we don't have to buy anything at all.

AladdinSane wrote: Do we need to buy the Beginner's Box (or PDF's) to play this? You do not need to buy anything. None of the games we're offering here require that. The nice thing about Pathfinder is that they give you the entire rules online... but you won't even need that. I'll give you the basics and keep it pretty simple (until you're willing to absorb more!).

Hey everyone,
Order of preference
1. Cleric 2. Barbarian 3. Wizard 4. Rogue 5. Fighter
I will play anything though, I just really want to get a feel for the game before jumping back into the RPG world with either PF or 4ed.
Thanks again for running this Wave!

Question Dave - are we going to be using the character's preset names and backgrounds ? Just curious.
If it helps us 5 decide who gets which characters, here is my preferences in order. But really, I am just excited to play any of them.
1) Wizard 2) Rogue 3) Barbarian 4) Cleric 5) Fighter

If you're interested in branching out and having your own name and background, that's fine. I'd expect some tweaking of the characters once we get to detailing them. When learning a new system it often helps to have some things generated up front - remember that what you did before isn't nearly as important as what your character does today and tomorrow. You're building your own future.

You should be ecstatic ! And we should be happy to have squeezed in ! And my girlfriend is gonna be pissed ( or relieved ) because I told her I was going to make an account for her and sign her up for Star Wars. I didn't get around to it in time...
Look at it this way... if you hadn't done this at all NOBODY would be playing.
Also, not to be a snitch but.... snitching... it did appear some people who signed up in other games are not noobs... but s all good.

Too bad I was hoping to sneak into a few other games as well.
I know we are still waiting on the fifth but based on preference hows this so far:
Mulligans - Rogue AladinSane - Barbarian Yoren - Fighter Gertz - Cleric
I know I don't mind the Wizard either so I can swap with #5 if they want the cleric instead.

I have a good feeling about our little group here. Bards shall sing songs of our triumphs long into the night !

Seeing as I'm late to the party I will play whichever character is left over after everyone gets their first or second choice.
Really looking forward to this game!

Well thats serves you right for making Mountains of Madness so good...now that you have learned your lesson you can plan accordinly...maybe 2013 version of the game will be Molehills of Mediocrity or an engaging tale of a farmer waterin his corn on a day that nothing happens where upon he walks into the barn and nothing happens. He thinks he hears somethign behind him and he turns and shockingly nothing happens..etc....that should generate slightly less interest

10 Years is a bit much though. 10 Years ago was the first year of 3ed/OGL/D20...I bought the books but never got to play as no one wanted to make the switch from 2ed.

Agreed. Just seemed that some of the players were RPGG regulars. But it's really none of my business, nor my place to say so.
