I am very interested in this game and was curious about the variety of creatures and monsters included in it. What sorts of stats are we talking about here? I assume orcs, trolls, and wargs but do the rules provide you with rules for things such as ringwraiths, balrogs, and dragons?

The core set has stats for:
Orcs (Great Orcs, Mordor-Orcs, Orcs of the Misty Mountains) Spiders (Attercops, Great Spiders) Trolls (Cave-Trolls, Hill-Trolls, Mountain-Trolls, Stone-Trolls) Wolves of the Wild (Wargs, Werewolves) Vampires (Great Bats, Secret Shadows)
There are some sub-categories.
It wouldn't be that difficult to cobble together something else. The included adventure has "Marsh Dwellers" which use some of the Special Abilities (think Feats/Powers) included.

Because of how they are releasing the products:
Area+timeline I'm sure the creatures will be statted-out officially as the other two core products are released.

Definitely no Nazgul, Balrogs or Dragons.
Given the tone of the game, I'm not sure I would expect such things in the future, either. There is an implication I think, although it is not spelled out anywhere, that such creatures can only be dealt with either by the very mightiest of the Wise (e.g. Gandalf fighting the Balrog) or by some single triumphant feat of skill (e.g. Bard the Bowman and Smaug). The PC's would not be expected to fight such creatures using the combat system, per se, but perhaps to run away from them, or deal with their influence, or use skills to find some clever non-combat way to defeat them.
The system just isn't designed for such differences in magnitude. Full stats for such incredibly powerful creatures in the One Ring would be about as useless as they were back in MERP.

Yes, this really is what I looked like when I uploaded that avatar. Not that it's quite current anymore.

Actually, in MERP, Balrog and Demon stats WERE useful. And, while most PC's couldn't take one, PC's with some prep time, a little luck, and a bunch of NPC friends could... due, in no small part, to the Rolemaster based combat system.
And if C7 doesn't stat them, fans will anyway...

Really? What level were the characters in your game? Holy cats, Durin's Bane was like, what, lvl 40/80 or something like that? I never had anyone over level 11 in my MERP game back in the day.
Maybe we just didn't play long enough. Oh wait, it was Rolemaster...now I remember why we stopped.

Okay cool. Thanks for the response. That's pretty much what I expected in terms of variety and really you can make those creatures a threat no matter what level or powers the heroes have. Hopefully they will release some more creatures in time.

1st.... but they mobilized a BUNCH of NPC 1st levels, as well... and a couple of 150 rolls and 66 crits...
And they still lost most of the PC's.

Hehe, that sounds like it would have been an interesting session to be a part of.
