The young man mouths the question "You found it" ? before continuing in a hushed tone.
"You found the damn thing" not waiting for a responce he eyes the rest of the group and turns back to floyd "They ain't in no shape to fight, most of the ones who weren't injured, already ran off trying to find a way out or more likely save themselves." The young man rolls his eyes before addressing the group again.
"I'm going to go with this fella here, He thinks he's found an exit that we can all use before ... something else happens"
the group murmurs begining to try to convince the young man to stay, he speaks up again.
"That's my gran right there, You guys take care of her. I'll be back soon, hank if you would keep everyone calm and keep the watch going." Bending down and tending to the elderly black woman for a moment before kissing her on the forehead and leaving with floyd.
Walking off with floyd the young man speaks again "Lets go find this thing, I may not be a cop but i can certainly throw a punch." the young man pops up on his feet, surprisingly fast and sure of himself obviously a boxer of some sort. " And that is my gran back there, so help me god if this is some sort of bullshit..." he leaves the threat unspoken.
You return to find jack increasingly unstable looking. As the two return all the sounds mysteriously stop. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You are in the entrance way of the service hallway. The Overhauls room is ahead and to your right. Further ahead the hallway turns sharply (right angle) to the left. There is a smear of dried blood leading from the overhaul room to the turn before disappearing from sight. The neon lights overhead flicker.
Marquis has joined the party! You know that he boxes and is a premed student. He seems faster then he is strong, but not a wimp by any means.

Jack's tension releases a bit when Oakes returns with another. 'At least we should have the advantage now.' He thinks.
Before the others can speak, Jack stands and speaks over his shoulder while still facing the hallway, "Oakes, you cover the back, kid see if you can find something to use as a weapon out of that toolbox," Jack nods to indicate the toolbox. "Try to stay close behind me, but don't crowd me. Careful there may be more than one asshole back here." Jack says and then moves into the hall.
Jack holds his gun in one hand while holding his mini-mag flashlight in the other. He takes up a cross-handed hold with the gun and flashlight so they both point directly forward and his arms support each other. He advances slow and steady trying to make as little noise as possible.

Oakes turns toward their new comrade, "That's Jack, I'd mentioned him before.
As the man steps into the room with the phone and tool box, "Mind the mess there... And don't worry about the phone, I spoke with the woman on the other end earlier... poor girl. This is not a localized event. Terrorism I think.
Allowing the man to take a look at the room, toolbox, and anything else.
"Here, take this wrench, it's probably the best thing around here... for defense."

Turning the corner your party is immediately assaulted by the sight ... and stench of the poor subway worker.
He looks as if he was gutted and quartered on the spot. His ribs stick up threw the piles of dried blood and feces, most of his organs missing. His head is relatively untouched, except for a few bites, removing his cheek and showing a chewed off tongue. You don't know if a animal got to it, or if he bit it off screaming.
From the pile of offal you can see 'muddy' footprints going deeper into what looks like the steamworks. Up ahead you can see a door on your left that says stairs.
The footprints lead into the steamworks.
The young man when offered the wrench refuses, saying he's better with his hands.
````````````````````````````````
Your in the subway hallway. The Stairs are ahead and to your left the steam works goes ahead for about 20 meters before joining another hallway to make a T intersection. The lights are spaced far apart and flickering. 'Muddy' footprints go into the steamworks.
Revolted by the sight but was able to keep from puking. Jack has, unfortunately, seen gruesome murders before. He holds his hand up to the others to wait a second. He crouches down and examines the scene while also keeping an eye on the area ahead. 'This makes no sense. Terrorists wouldn't worry about taking this kind of time with a single kill, unless they were making a statement. But this is a hidden area with no terror impact. And if it was some crazy homeless person, this guy was completely batshit nuts.' As Jack examines the corpse. 'Bite marks? But animals don't leave human foot prints.'
"Holy..." Oakes half-turns away.
"Who the hell could have... how does... I..." He walks up behind the crouched Jack, peering over trying to understand just what he is looking at.
"How does this happen? Who would do this? It's one thing to kill a man, but this kind of horror is beyond just murder."
Oakes hunches over against the wall with his fist, supporting himself with his cane.
"And this is not an isolated event... that poor woman on the phone."
-
Your compatriot Marquis upon seeing the body, returns arround the corner and pukes quietly. Returning soberly and wiping the vomit from the edges of his mouth he looks at the body.
What ever did this is using a tool or something. It takes a crazy amount of force to spread the ribs like that.
Jack in his investigation notices more bitemarks on the body, on the ribs and all arround the body. It looks like whatever did this ripped this guy apart from the stomach out and then gnawwed on the remains.
Marquis speaks up again. "Are those the stairs out?" he says pointing to the stairwell. He begins to move up to investigate.
Jack holds his flashlight hand out. "Waooh there a sec cowboy. We'll get to that in a sec. I just want to clear this area first." Jack points his gun towards the steam-works to emphasize.
"There's nothing we can do for this poor slob, so lets focus on getting this asshole." Jack finishes curtly and takes up his stance again as he moves forward.
"I think I'm going to have to agree with him Jack."
Peering into the steam-works, whispering, "I just doesn't seem wise to move in on someone that is able to do this kind of thing... I mean, that kind of strength... they're probably on some kind of drugs."
Thinking about that for a moment while he looks back at what's left of the body, disgusted, "They're nothing but an animal at this point."
Beginning to move past Jack towards the steps Oakes hesitates. Looking back to Marquis, "Dammit! Can we really surface and hope that aid arrives before something happens to all those people back there? Your grandma?
Looking for any kind of door or compartments within the steam-works, "Maybe there's some way we can trap them in here."
-
-
Marquis sounds like he about to retort something when he suddenly pales and points straight ahead.
From the T intersection of the steam works, two figures can be seen peeking arround the corner. One from either side of the intersection. Their hair and skin is dirty and the eyes dark and rimmed with dirt and maybe ... blood. One is pretty obviously a human female, the other obviously human but both look roughed up beyond any easy reconignition beyond human.
When they notice you noticing them, the retreat arround the corner. Pulling their heads back out of view.
Marquis stammers , "That was that was that was sally"
Jack's stubbornness kicks in, "Oakes we can't leave a killer between us and the people at the train. We have to secure this area before we bring them up. If you want to run ahead be my guest!"
After seeing the people
'What the... a lady?!?!' Jack had never heard of a lady who murdered in such gruesome fashion let alone encounter one. Something was definitely wrong here. Cowboy's yammering didn't catch focus in Jack's mind at first then he heard it.
Marquis wrote: ...that was sally"
"Cheese 'n Rice! You know that girl?!?!" All the while Jack is talking he keeps a bead on the end of the hall with his gun.
Marquis still visably shaken lapses into a motown accent.
Dat girl , she was taken, but she wuz dead or close enough to it. She fell inta one o' the poles. Her skull was crushed in from behind.
Looking at the young man, "That doesn't even begin to make sense."
Pointing down the hallway, "You mean to tell me that that girl, Sally, was on the train with us. She fell against a rail hard enough to crush the back of her skull in, and once she was stolen away, found time to recover?"
After a pause, "Ok, I suppose I could believe someone was stealing the injured away to give them emergency aid, but I really don't see why. And she'd have to have aid! Nobody has the back of their skull crushed in and is up and walking within the hour." Oakes reaches up to place his hand over his own wound thinking, "Maybe it's not illicit substances that caused this murder. Is it possible to suffer such a shock to the brain that it would drive someone this mad? Enough to desecrate a body like that?" Oakes points down to the pile that was once human.
"Relax Oakes, its not possible. Cowboy's wrong. Either he's cracking up or he's seeing things. Besides, that girl was covered with grime I'm sure its mistaken identity." Jack directs his speech to Marquis, "Look kid, you need to pull it together. Just relax you must be mistaken. High stress can do that. You sure you didn't take a blow to your head yourself?"
Jack says all this as he carefully closes with the side "Stairs" door. Reaching out with his flashlight hand to check and see if the door was unlocked.
Jack continued speaking without waiting for a response from Marquis, "Alright Oakes I need you to watch this door and make sure no one comes out behind us. Just give a shout if anything happens." Jack quickly glances at Marquis to size him up, "Hey Cowboy, just keep it together long enough to take these nutbags out. Cover my back." Jack says while thinking, 'I'll be lucky if he doesn't hit me.'
Without waiting for answers, Jack moves up to the "T" intersection leading to the steamworks.
"Just be careful... nobody else needs to die."
Oakes take a few steps back away from the door positioning himself between it and the "T" down the hall.
The two of you bound around the corner and then rebound back into view of Floyd as the girl whos face you saw before staggers into view of everyone.
She's walking with a sort of slow , inturned foot motion as if she was drunk or had forgotten how to walk straight. She flails her arms towards you ineffectively, at times almost seeming about to fell over before righting herself.
She is covered in gore and the smell is appauling. Marquis looks about to puke again, as she staggers arround chasing after him.
As she does so you can see that the back of her head has been cracked open. There is a gash big enough to stick your fist into opening from the back of her head. Still she moves and acts, if more like an animal then a human.
Looking more closely at her, you realize that much of the filth on her face must have come from her eating , on what you dont know, but blood is smeared all over her lower face and your pretty sure you can see traces of fabric or hair still sticking out past her lips.
(Guts check everyone, also , this will be my only post to monday, sorry, visiting the folks.)
Guts (1d6rr)+2 = ( (3) ) + 2 = 5
Jack keeps from completely losing it. His mind has trouble forming complete thoughts, except to think... 'there's two of them... there's two of them...' over and over.
He knew about the zombie movies, but he never thought he'd be faced with one in real life. Near losing it, Jack reflexively shoots at the monstrosity.
Hearing the other gentlmen stumble back into the hallway Oakes spins around to see what could have caused their return.
"Gah!" Guts roll, minus 1 for wound. 1d8-1 = (7) - 1 = 6
Oakes is able to keep his footing as he hears a shot fired from Jack's gun. "No!"
-
-
Jacks shot goes wide, embeding itself into a wall harmlessly somewhere.
Its bang echoing down the hard cement walls of the machinery passages, elects a growing responce presumably from more zombies.
There's also another sound, not unlike a running dog coming from that way.
The Girl, who the shot missed, lurches violently towards marquis and finally grabbing him , starts pulling herself up to a position where she can bite him.
Jack tries to grab the girl and bodily throw her to the ground. The noises from the steamworks have him concerned, but the nightmare in front of him has his attention.
Jack ignores the pain from his wound while grabbing the girl.
As Jack goes to the aid of Marquis, Oakes hears what sounds like a dog running down the hall and steps in between the men and the sound.
"I'm not for violence... but as a delivery man I've grown to despise these ignorant beasts!"
Jack readies his wrench for the incoming k-9.
-
-
Jack wretches the girl off of Marquis flopping her on her back, where she seems unable to (quickly) get up. She struggles against the ground as everyone else regains their feet.
The groans are still incoming. Marquis looks wigged out. "We gotta get out of here, we gotta go back and help get my mama out of here."
Jack tries to step on the girl pinning her to the ground, and points his gun at her head pulling the trigger. "Cowboy this is the exit!" He nods at the stairwell door. "Staying at the train is a dead end!"
Fighting (Wounded) (1d6rr)-1 = ( (1) ) - 1 = 0 For pinning girl. Shooting (Wounded) (1d6rr)-1 = ( (6(+ 5)) ) - 1 = 10 For shot at head. Not sure how multiple actions work. Let me know if I should be doing something different.
