The real cause for me designing this game was reading "The Prestige" after watching the movie "The Prestige", based on the book that I just mentioned, which is about a professional rivalry between two turn-of-the-century stage magicians told entirely through their journals, and the 1st person view of one of the grandsons of one of the magicians. Without giving too much away, the movie is pretty similar in amaking the journals a central part of the story, but in typical Christopher Nolan fashion, the story is a bit more twisty-turny.

Anyway, if you are looking for a slightly more modern take on this kind of novel, I highly recommomend "The Prestige".
