Hi all!

Well, my friends and I have been enjoying some Gamma World, and recently I started working on developing my own idea for an adventure. I want to share my idea for a monster, and see if any of you had any suggestions or feedback. In particular I am interest in specific thoughts about statistics.

Below is the general overview which I submitted to the Critter Creation Contest. If you haven't checked out the contest follow the link. (I especially like the dragon with bears for a breathe weapon!)

These miniatures from Wargames Factory were my inspiration;

2011 RPG GEEK - CRITTER CREATION CONTEST
DOGFACES by Andrew Sinclair (Cthulhu1)

Name:
Dogfaces

Genre: Post-Apocalyptic
Size: Medium

Attack: 4
Defense: 2
Stamina: 5
Speed: 3

Description
A Dogface resembles a human whose face is obscured by a gas mask and helmet. Drab, grey, heavy clothing, gloves, boots and great coat cover the Dogface completely. This clothing is devoid of any insignia or markings. A set of military dog tags hangs around the neck of a Dogface, though these stamped metal tags are illegible in any language. In its hands or slung over its shoulder a Dogface always carries a blackened rifle with a cruel-edged 18" bayonet jutting from beneath the barrel.

A Dogface’s boots are always muddy, regardless of the environment it is in. As it walks it leaves an easily followed trail. Behind the lenses of a Dogface’s mask there is nothing but a pale green glow. Dogfaces appear to make no sound unless you listen very carefully - then the slow, shallow rasping of breath can be heard through their masks.

Habitat/Ecology
The Apocalypse witnessed horrible battles where countless, faceless soldiers marched to their death in tragic, pointless campaigns. The battles are over, but the psychic shock of these slaughters remains. Near these battlefields this ambient psychic energy has manifest into physical form -– the Dogfaces. As grey, muddy and silent figures the Dogfaces march forever, seeking victory and peace.

A Dogface’s items of clothing and equipment are, in fact, the Dogface itself. They are animated by the psychic manifestations that linger in the places of great slaughter from the Apocalypse Wars. It is not possible to remove any of these items, as close examination reveals they are all fused together as a whole. The only thing that can be taken from the form of a Dogface is one of its dog tags, (see below).

Encounter Notes
Dogfaces are always found in large groups. Though mindless, they can be controlled by anyone who carries a whistle. If a whistle is blown, the Dogfaces will charge the target or targets identified by the whistle blower. Though they carry rifles, these weapons never shoot. Instead the Dogfaces charge their targets and engage them with the bayonet. In combat Dogfaces are susceptible to any weapon or wound that pierces their suit of gear. If pierced even once, the essence of the Dogface escapes in an anguished but incoherent cry. For every Dogface that falls in this manner, another will seem to rise up out of the floor/ground/what-have-you as if it was crawling out of a trench, and will immediately charge in to replace its fallen comrade.

Due to the constant presence of mud around the Dogfaces, their movement is slower than that of an average human. This means they can be outrun over short distances. Unfortunately because they are not living creatures Dogfaces never tire, and can eventually run down any foe that tries to flee them on foot.

There are three ways to defeat the Dogfaces. Firstly, another person with a whistle can attempt to issue its own commands. In this case a contest of wills must be fought between the whistle bearers, with the winner gaining control of the Dogfaces. The second way to overcome a Dogface is to snap a dog tag from the collapsed form of a punctured Dogface. If this is done a new Dogface will not rise to replace its comrade. Finally, if a Dogface is within earshot of someone playing a sad lament on a horn or bugle it will immediately cease all activity, and stand silently. In this state it will not defend itself, but if punctured another will take its place unless a dog tag is claimed.
