Browsing some periodical issues, I noticed that the Traveller (Classic) logo was not showing. It appears that the image has been deleted for some reason, leaving the representative image undefined. Can this be recovered?

This happened to Basic D&D as well. I added a new one back - never found the old one. What's happening? A conspiracy!?

It is possible that the image is gone because the account that created it was deleted by its user, if that is the case, unfortunately it can't be recovered.

I'm 99% sure that the Basic Dungeons & Dragons image was cropped and uploaded by me. And since I'm still an active [account terminated]

I used it for the recent Overtext Treasure Hunt and still have it

That fixes the effect of this bug, but the underlying cause remains unknown. If this was due to a terminated account, I wonder which other entries have been affected.

If it helps, I've traced the image ID for one of the missing images: 588382 was the logo for 3D&T (a ghost of it is still visible at the 3D&T family level).

I will check, but I don1t think so. I would have to dig one of the full backups to process it. I can do a check to see what doesn't have a rep image anymore.

yohanleafheart wrote: I can do a check to see what doesn't have a rep image anymore. Aw, man! Now you tell me! I made all of these GeekLists manually:
Earn GeekGold! Missing images for Settings
Earn GeekGold! Missing images for Series
RPGG 2010 Goals: A representative image for every ranked item
Earn GeekGold! Missing images for RPGs
Earn GeekGold! Missing images for Periodicals
(I need to update all of them at some point, actually. I haven't added new database entries to them for a while.)

Another traced image ID: 555973 was the representative image for Vampire: The Masquerade (1st, 2nd & Revised Editions) (a ghost of it is still visible here).
I've checked the contributions page on my profile, and the number of listed images is what I expect. I'm one of the more prolific image uploaders (for [RPG] entries, I've submitted about 15% of the logos) so it is highly unlikely that this is a random error (otherwise my count should have been hit). I don't have detailed image contribution stats for any other user for comparison though.

And another two:
Image ID 529201 was the rep image for Unpublished Prototypes (still visible here).
Image ID 542502 was the rep image for RPG Sandbox (still visible here).
Those are two RPG entries that stand out, so I wonder if anyone remembers who submitted images for those?

An example of a setting:
Image 543899 is missing for Blackmoor (visible here).
And for series, a bunch of the generic letters used for D&D series have gone (just look under the list of linked series for Basic Dungeons & Dragons). Someone must remember who made those?

Tomorrow I will see if I can put some queries to get the list of items missing its repimages. I will also see if I can check the backups to try to be sure that no bug appeared, and it is just a matter of a delete user.

Is there some sort of process for when a user deletes their account but has significant contributions (i.e. more than a half dozen contributions)? If so, I'd love to talk to them before the account is really removed to see if we can still host their contributions. I assume database entries (i.e. not images) remain (I've never seen a database entry removed when a user leaves) but I'd hate for any good content to go away. For one, it means I feel like the site has let the user down and that bugs me... but also the missing content sets us back.

this problem was the subject of a recent BGG thread Account deletion wipes all associated content? Can this be changed?

Actually, that's the logo for Traveller (Mongoose), not Traveller (Classic). I'll upload and propose a better logo.
