When you spend the points you get from taking hindrances do you have to choose witch benefit listed below or do you get both?

If you take a major hindrance you get 2 points to spend. A minor hindrance gives you 1 point.

You can take 2 minor and 1 major hindrance.

You may spend all of your hindrance points however you like
a) Raise an attribute a die type (cost 2 points)
b) Choose an edge (cost 2 points)
c) gain another skill point (cost 1 point normally, 2 points if raising it above the linked attribute)
d) Gain additional money (cost 1 point - although we don't use this much as money doesn't play much part in our games. Also I wouldn't let a player choose this if they took Poverty).

At some point I realized 2 points = 1 advance (from the character advancement section).

It made understanding how to spend Hindrance points easier for me to understand.

Very good point. I hadn't ever thought of that.
