I've heard that the Red Box omits the Dragonborn and Tieflings which is perfect as I'd like to avoid that crap. I understand they're in one of the sourcebooks though, which is fine, we can just avoid that one.

So, my question is are there or will there be adventures for the Essential line or will we just have to use the ones for 4e (meaning there will be references to Dragonborn and such)?

Thanks!

Why don't you just get whatever books have stuff that's interesting to you but ignore the stuff in them you don't want? Just tell your players that those races don't exist in your world.

It sounds like you're planning on playing more than a couple of times in which case I would not recommend buying the Starter Set - it really will only provide a couple sessions worth of play before you need to buy the Essentials books and start all over again - there are a lot of incompatabiliities with the characters presented in the starter with the real game and so it makes a lousy starter for anyone but a 10-year-old IMO.

They included adventures in the Essentials Dungeon Master's Kit, and Monster Vault.

The Dungeon Master's Kit includes a two-part adventure (Reavers of Harkenwold) that picks up where the red box adventure (Twisting Halls) left off. Part one of the DM Kit adventure (The Iron Circle) takes the party from 2nd level to 3rd level. Part two (The Die is Cast) takes the party from 3rd level to 4th level.

The Monster Vault includes an adventure (Cairn of the Winter King), which would take the party from 4th level to 5th level.

Both the DM Kit, and Monster Vault include maps for most the adventures, but will require you to draw out some of the missing areas, or use Dungeon Tiles. On back of the Monster Vault adventure booklet it shows the full map of the adventure. The included map covers approximately 50% of the area, and rest could be filled out using, Dungeon Tiles: The Dungeon, or Halls of the Giant Kings. The flip side of this map, which is the full side of a 30 x 20 map, has a scene of a settlement in snow & ice appearing to be from the Caverns of Icewind Dale tile set.

Other printed options:

The Red Box gave you a code to download a solo adventure, Ghost Tower of the Witchlight Fens.

There is an adventure from Dungeon Magazine 182 called The Dungeon of the Ghost Tower. It would allow you to tie in with the Twisting Halls, and take the party from 2nd to 3rd. The problem would be that it puts your party at a level above the DM Kit adventure if you choose to go that route.

There is also an encounter by Chris Perkins available called Kill the Messengers. It was an encounter used at Gen Con 2010, which you could use when the party exits the Twisting Halls.

The Essentials line is meant to be compatible with 4e, so I wouldn't expect any Essentials-specific adventures in the future. Do double-check that the Essentials line doesn't introduce Dragonborn and Tieflings in its player handbooks -- I assumed it did. I wouldn't get the Red Box if you're just looking for an adventure. It's a good adventure, but awfully generic and not worth the cost of the Starter Set.

There are no Essential's only modules announced, just the ones already out. I have to assume they don't have any non-essentials races, but I haven't actually checked. The other published modules definitely have both of the races you have mentioned. There's only one module scheduled for release this year. As it's not out yet (not even any real preview material out) I couldn't tell you if there are Teiflings and Dragonborn.

Personally I don't see why it would be an issue. Just tell your players they can't make them and whenever one comes up in a module just say it's something else. The player's don't need to know.
