Never actually read Coraline (or seen the movie). My wife's read it though, so it's on the shelves around here somewhere. I'll have to track it down and add it to the long list of books I'm reading.

It was more inspired by Evan Dorkin's Beasts of Burden comic series and the truly bizarre antics of my cat, Whateley. My wife and I joke that she's a member of MI-Fluff, saving the world from KAOS, but sometimes I"m not so sure it's a joke.
