Though I'm dating myself by saying this, I played several sessions of The Price of Freedom after its release, back in my Red Dawn days. I've not even thumbed through the books since high school. With the Cold War behind us, I was wondering if anyone ever played this game for nostalgia's sake, or perhaps modified its basic premise to reinvigorate it--perhaps substituting the Communists for alien invaders . . .

I imagine the system's as much to blame for the game disappearing into the forgotten realms of RPGs. Who knows? Maybe there's a huge, silent fan base out there converting the system to all kinds of settings.

The battle still rages in New Zealand.
Over 20 years we have fought the Reds.
Britain let us down - retreated back to its island.
Australia was nuked early in the war - No loss.
We still wait for help from the US. Who have their own problems with the 2nd Civil War. Once the Russians were pushed out of the US the south split from the north and the fighting started again.
A new generation of kiwi freedom fighters has risen and are fighting to free New Zealand.

Played this game when it first came out, loved it.
Over 2 years we played once a fortnight.

Now my children are teenagers they carry the fight to the Reds.

Oh Mark! I have Peter's copy of P O F, though we never managed to play a session. Maybe a PBF? I feel the need to lift some cars off my high-school prom date.
