Anyone have any opinions on this? I was thinking of getting it if it has goods rules for sensors and detection of objects.

This is a blatant example of frivolous spending.

I spent 100 geek gold and all I got was this lousy overtext.

It doesn't have the detection rules; those are in the Traveller:TNE core book(s). FF&S provides formulas that let you calculate how much volume and mass sensors with a given range have, and how much power they take to run. It has the crunchy design part, but not the actual usage rules.

If you're asking my opinion, it's one of my favorite supplements of all time. But for what you're asking, not so much...

Yes, this really is what I looked like when I uploaded that avatar. Not that it's quite current anymore.

It's just design sequences. And they are overcomplex. If not using it for Traveller, you're better off with the more easily used GURPS Vehicles or CORPS VDS, or EABA & Stuff!

FF&S 1 (TNE) is not bad, just overtaken.
FF&S 2 (T4) has massive errata issues (almost as many errors in one book as in the first 4 MT books.)

TNE sensor rules are pretty weak, actually. the T4 rules are not much better. A fan done "Definitive Sensor Rules" was done... and works well with either game.

Thanks for the answers, guys. I guess I don't need FF&S after all, althought I've heard tons of good stuff about it.

@ Aramis: I'm working on rules for hardcore SF settings in EABA, which is why I was asking this.
