In the years 2001 and 2002 Wizards of the Coast, (WotC), released a series of web articles called the Cliffhanger Adventure Series. These adventures were designed to be released and played in brief episodes which would leave players at a cliffhanger point in the story. Episodes were released once every week or so and when all the episodes had been released for a particular adventure they would be complied into one document or reference.

Originally these adventures were only available on the WotC web site and could be printed by users. Later adventures in the series were compiled into downloadable PDFs.

The Adventures only available on the web site include;

• Equinox (Level 7)
• Over the Edge (Level 9) - Greyhawk
• The Candlemaker's Fire (Level 4)
• The Hallowed Hills (Level 3) - Greyhawk
• The Proper Count (Level 7) - Greyhawk
• The Village of Camiram (A Setting Village as Opposed to an Adventure)
• Unearthing the Past (Level 1)
