Journal of the Travellers' Aid Society

The original run of Journal of the Travellers' Aid Society was a quarterly magazine published by GDW from 1979 supporting Traveller (Classic). The first 24 issues, along with several best of volumes, were published in a Journal format. From issue 25 the magazine was transformed into the letter sized Challenge, with Journal of the Travellers' Aid Society staying as a section of the magazine supporting Classic Traveller until issue 36.

The Journal of the Travellers' Aid Society was briefly revived in 1996 when two issues were published for Traveller T4: Marc Miller's Traveller by Imperium Games. These were numbered #25 and #26 ignoring the issues that were incorporated in Challenge magazine.

The Journal of the Travellers' Aid Society was relaunch as a bi-weekly online magazine by subscription Steve Jackson Games in February 2000, and continues to be regularly published until at least the time of writing this (July 2009). This version of JTAS covers all versions of Traveller and the senior editor is Loren Wiseman, one of the original group at GDW that created the Traveller universe. The issues of this version are only dated, not numbered.
