Traveller5 is also sometimes referred to as Traveller 5, Traveller5 or Traveller 5th Edition and T5. It is a long term project by Marc Miller, the original designer of the Traveller RPG, to eventually create an expanded, advanced, definitive version of Traveller. This fifth edition includes many new features and rules intended to enhance and improve both ease of use and quality of play.

While this game has been discussed by the publisher since early 2005, it has not yet been officially released. A CD-ROM of preliminary texts for Traveller5 has been available from Far Future Enterprises since February 2009. Purchase of this CD-ROM also allows access to a Traveller 5 Private playtest forum on the Citizens of the Imperium website.
