Nice picture!

Do the conkers serve a purpose, or are they there for decoration?

Hi Matt

Yes, the conkers do serve a purpose

They are used to model the "checks" that players earn during the game. When a player earns a check, they scoop up a conker. When they spend a check, they toss the conker back to me. I think conkers look better than just making a mark on your character sheet to model a check, even if amounts to the same thing in the end.

Cheers
Rick

I love the idea of using such a natural item for this, it really fits the theme of the game.

Rather serendipitously, I was out for a walk with my family this afternoon, and I managed to grab a dozen conkers off the ground under a huge horse chestnut tree. I may well use them for the same purpose when I eventually get to run Mouse Guard. How many do you tend to use in a session? I'd like to know if I need to go back for more... cool

Hi Matt

Five conkers per player should do it.

The players in last played with really embraced the whole idea that failure is fun and that their Mouse Guard characters would be rubbish at the start of the story and be heroic by the end. As such, they mined their Traits for Checks like crazed water voles, so they each had 2-4 checks by the end of the GMs Turn.

Happy conker gathering!

Cheers
Rick

Awesome set of helpers there!

Any chance of you uploading them (here or elsewhere) for other MG players to enjoy?

Hi Renato

I created a link to where you can download the cards on the Mouse Guard Web Links section. Download, print them off, and have some fun with scissors and glue

http://rpg.geekdo.com/thingweblink/59293

It's a bit naughty of me to link directly to the PDF, but the designer hasn't created a landing page. That PDF is a work-in-progress too since I am adding Weapon and Armour cards to the PDF one night this week.

Cheers
Rick

Cool! Be sure to advertise these when you consider them finished: the MG players will surely enjoy 'em.

Hi Rob

Naturally that depends on the number of players. The most I've ever played with is four players, so I printed off as many sheets as were required to satisfy four players.

So that'd be 4xPage1, 2xPage2, and 5xPages4&5 (three decks of conflict cards, two being for the players so they can split into teams, and one for the GM).

I don't bother with the Check, Disposition, Fate and Persona tokens, so I don't print those.

Happy New Years, cheers
Rick

Card links seem to be broken. Is there any place we can still download these cards?

Thanks.
