I just got the Fudge dice GM's pack, and I'm wondering what I can play with them. I've got a couple of well-known RPGs in mind, but are there any great titles I've never heard of?
The original Fudge dice game. I've downloaded the free PDF, but I'm not sure what to use as a campaign setting. Is there a good free setting that people typically play Fudge with, or is it mostly for one-shots?
Fudge is pretty much free form. Your given a frame work to apply rules and and determine success/failure, but other than that it's totally up to you. You can take a setting you already have an convert it to use fudge.
Keep in mind that fudge is a toolkit for building out your setting.
For free settings I quick google search on "fudge free rpg" should get you some choices to pick from.
I've always wanted to try a hard SF game, so I'm going to order this when the next Lulu coupon comes out. The idea of creating the campaign setting collaboratively so that the players buy in to it really appeals to me.
The world creation is entertaining. You get people's creative juices going. I'm in a game over at RPG.net and the breadth of worlds created by players using the same exact stats is amazing.
My AD&D 2e group could probably be convinced to play this, since it's got goblins and +1 swords and XP. Also, it's free now, so they can all print out a rulebook.
Looks like a lot of fun based on the theme alone. Most RPG sessions seem to go off the rails into pulp territory anyway, so why not treat that as a strength? I'll order this when I get Diaspora.
I've never read the comic books, but I do have several boxes worth of 2000AD sitting in the back of the wardrobe, so I think I get the idea. The sheer size of this tome is a selling point -- surely there must be something great in some part of it.
Yes it is. LoA will be working off the mechanics found ind TbA. They are planning on a companion book that will contain a more rules light edition, but the core will be based on TbA.
A game designed to emulate Shoujo manga and anime similar to Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon and Revolutionary Girl Utena. This one has three supplements and a diceless version
