We need some RPG geeklists, especially now that the beta is running in full swing and things are filling up with real data.

So, here's a geeklist on a a random theme.

RPGs that predominantly feature anthropomorphic animals, particularly for the PCs.

This is not a "furry" game, at least as the term is used in SF fandom. Furries have thumbs - the bunnies in B&B don't have thumbs. There are degrees of anthropomorphic games, and this doesn't make it to the level of "furry".

It's why we have two different genres:

Animal
Animal (Anthropomorphic)

It is, however, a game about intelligent animals, and unless I've been steadily lied to for years, based heavily on Watership Down, a novel which many people who self identify as furries site as a major influence on their life/personality/tastes.

Watership Down as an influence - yes, of course. But that doesn't mean it's really a Furry game. There really is a distinction.

I once had a player at a convention show up in a bunny suit to play a B&B game I was running. It was awkward all around, and he left in about 2 minutes, muttering that "it wasn't the Furry game he was expecting." I could only agree with him.

A Big Eyes, Small Mouth supplement for playing classic cartoon style funny animals.

Somewhere in it must be rules for building a machine that drops anvils on cats and/or roadrunners...

Actually Small Mouse is meant to play animals of the NIMH, Rescuers and Rescue Rangers variety rather than Tom-n-Jerry mayhem style ones. Also covers settings like A Bugs Life, Capitol Critters, or even Peace on Earth.

Covers rules for Rescue Ranger Gadget style kitbash building of equipment from everyday household items. Rubberband and paperclip crossbows and everything else.

If you want Tom-n-Jerry style then get TOON! as its totally geared for the weirdness.

Not just cat people. Albedo is a hard science-fiction setting pitting the EDF allied animals against the racist and expansionistic ILR rabbits. Grim warefare, psychological trauma, and lots and lots of political double-crossing going on.

Series focused on Erma Felna, whi is indeed a cat. But also follows several story archs incliuding an equine diplomat, an otter secret agent, and several other species. The RPG allows a fair spread to chooce from. Even avians.

Congratulations, you've inhereted the earth! The humans accidentally left behind their successors in the animals they granted sentience to before an accidental war destroyed them.

Fairly political and 'low-key' for a Palladium Games game. One of my favorite games of all time. I'd have probably rated it higher were it not for several rules and formatting issues...

Actually the world was brought to ruin by some kid releasing a super-virus that A: killed off 95%+ of the human race, and B: inadvertently mutated animals into humanoid sentience. Some to the point they pass as human. The remnants of the human population are now tuled by a maniac and things go down-hill from there.

The book has extensive animal selections that draws from the books listed below and TMNT.

This was originally part of the TMNT series from Palladium and covered Road Hogs, After The Bomb, Mutants in Avalon, Mutants Down under, and Mutants in Space.

It was in many ways the precursor to Rifts.

In the Gamma World game I'm currently playing in, I'm playing a mutant skunk with Dual brain, devolution, evolution, telekinesis, kinetic absorption, hands of power (laser), illusion generation, and ultravision... but I rolled several 3s for stats.

I heard we might get someone finally roll up a human. Maybe. People seem to love anthropomorphs in this game... heck, they generally want to play anthropomorphic tomato plants more often than they'll play pure or mutant humans.

Gamma World was the first RPG to feature humanoid animals. Depending on what edition you have, humans are either so-so, ok, or about all you can select if not a mutant human.

2nd Ed is still my favorite as its easy to pick up and play and has utterly no real class system or even levels. Roll character and go!

I was going to add Dragon Storm but it is listed as a board game.

Has furry races (foxwing - winged fox people, tigreans, das karr - fox people without wings, vermites - rat people).

Also, characters are shapeshifters so even non-furry races might be able to shift into a furry form. Some shapes are unicorns, pegasi, werecats, griffin, dragon, and others.

I footed the bill for some cards for this.
DragonStorm is indeed a RPG. Its just that the BGG members (And a large portion of the RPGG members) oft havent a single damn clue what an RPG is. Its also a CCG though and one of the few to ever try it. Great game as long as you avoid the RPGA-esque Guild.
